Paul Moran

Paul Moran is a Scottish creative producer living in Northwest Tasmania. After graduating with BA(Hons) in Filmmaking & Screenwriting Paul found soon found himself settling on the other side of the planet, bringing a Scottish sensibility to Tasmania where he found a palpable resonance with his homeland. Having produced several internationally screened and award-winning short films, Paul became a recipient of Screen Australia Enterprise funding, securing a placement at Blue Rocket Productions to be mentored as a creative producer. Since then Paul has worked as an associate producer on children’s animated series, Dumbotz , for Nine Network and has produced a short documentary, Sidelines , for SBS and an animated web-series, Moments of Clarity . Most recently Paul produced KEEKO , an educational children’s animated interstitial series for ABC and is currently developing several projects for various platforms. Paul currently serves as a board member for Wide Angle Tasmania and has been selected as one of Screen Producers Australia’s “Ones to Watch.” As a gregarious lover of people, places and the stories that lie intertwined within them, Paul actively seeks to combine his child-like curiosity and open view of the world with his imperative for telling screen stories.

Wide Angle Tasmania is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has delivered grassroots opportunities and resources to the Tasmanian screen sector since 2003. Wide Angle Tasmania's mission is to strengthen Tasmania's screen culture by encouraging, developing and supporting Tasmanian screen practitioners. We provide quality film production equipment  (cameras, lights, audio, unit gear, camera support, projectors etc.) in Tasmania and offer a 30% discount on gear hire to all current financial members .  All prices include GST and insurance.  We can courier equipment to most locations within Tasmania with advance bookings. Wide Angle manages the Screen Centre with a 70 seat-cinema/studio, offices, micro-cinema and meeting rooms available  for short and longer term hire. Wide Angle offers a comprehensive range of services and resources to support Tasmanian filmmakers - we look forward to connecting with you!

As  a cameraman/video producer with 12 years experience in the media industry. I have worked on a range of diverse projects eg. documentaries such Gourmet Farmer and Storm Surfers 3D. Travelling to remote Aboriginal communities with The National Museum of Australia - documenting the Encounters Project. Working with rock star Jon English to help save the devil campaign, even My Kitchen Rules and Ray Martin. My aspirations are to be recognized as a professional, and a leader in the industry of arts and media.

Broadcasters include Discovery Networks, National Geographic, RTL, BBC, ABC, SBS, Nine, Ten, and Seven networks. After many years living in Sydney, I am now back in my hometown of Hobart and work with excellent local crews.
