Experience - brief overview of your professional skills

Catherine Pettman and Matthew Newton head up Rummin Productions.

Rummin are a Tasmanian based film and digital media production company specialising in cinematic documentary, factual television and feature film.

Matthew is a multi-award winning photographer/ DoP and director who has filmed on numerous television series and feature documentaries including Alive and Kicking, Bali High Wedding, What Ever Happened to Brenda Hean and Real Life Water Rats. Matthew has filmed in over a dozen counties, often in remote locations.

Catherine is a creative producer and worked as Head of Production at Roar Film managing feature docs and factual television for broadcasters ZDF, RTE, SBS and the ABC. She has produced several award winning shorts including Stripped Bare and the current international hit Doing it Scared.

Rummin collaborate with NGO’s, Government and ethical businesses to create work that spans television, theatrical, online learning and site-specific installations. At Rummin we believe storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today. Stories are what move us, make us feel alive, and inspire us.

INTEL - MEET THE MAKERS

Summer in Tasmania was the perfect time of year to capture some stunning footage of the work of Dr Paolo De Souza and his team at CSIRO in Hobart. The production was for a series of short films focusing on Makers from around the world utilising the technology of the Intel Edison compute module.

The 'Bee Backpacks' film focuses on the urgent need to understand the worldwide decline of bees.
